Computer forensics confirms inappropriate use

Our computer forensics service assists businesses across the UK

Our clients suspected an employee of misusing a company laptop to access pornographic material on the Internet.

Cursory examination of the employee’s laptop showed no such material.  However, further examination of the laptop using specialist forensic techniques did uncover evidence of contentious material.

In this instance the material did not amount to criminal behaviour, but the individual concerned was subject to disciplinary proceedings which led to his dismissal from the company.

The forensics techniques used in this case would have been sufficient for criminal court proceedings if the need had arisen.

Computer forensics identifies thief

Private investigators trace IP thief

Our investigators were approached by a software company concerned about the theft of its intellectual property.  Information had appeared in the public domain and this information could only have come from the company’s private network.

Using a combination of computer forensics and surveillance we were able to trace the individual who had hacked into the the software company’s computer network.  The individual concerned was a former director of the company and was the subject of a criminal prosecution.

Are you losing high value clients and staff?

Private investigation service to counter breach of non-compete clauses

On a number of occasions we have been approached by corporate clients dealing with the breach of a non-compete clause.

These scenarios often involve senior staff leaving and setting up a competing business of their own. In many instances this inlcudes the theft of intellectual property and the poaching of high value clients and staff.

We have investigated a number of such cases across the UK and often on behalf of international clients.

While the course of each investigation varies we would expect to combine surveillance with computer forensics techniques.  In the past this approach has been very successful, resulting in email communications and other digitally stored information which was sufficient for lawyers to raise action against the individuals concerned and put and end to the competing activity.
