Boothroyd Associates Ltd was started up by a retired police officer who, during his last four years in service, ran now-defunct Strathclyde Police’s CID Special Operations.
The MD has given evidence in criminal and civil proceedings on numerous of occasions as an expert witness particularly in the field of video evidence. Being responsible for the procurement of covert and forensic technical equipment for the UK’s 2nd largest police force has afforded him an expert knowledge of the wide array of state of the art equipment available in intelligence and evidence gathering.
In his role as police detective the MD of Boothroyds attended numerous training courses, seminars and forums affording him a broad knowledge of covert technical surveillance, electronic countermeasures, conventional surveillance and specialist surveillance equipment.
He was previously a member of a national working party on Digital Evidence in the Criminal Justice System at the Home Office – Police Scientific Development Branch (PSDB) where he acquired knowledge of the most up to date information on digital systems and techniques.
In addition, along with members of the his team, the MD has experience of hostage siege intervention and negotiation in both training and live operation environments.

Boothroyd investigators include qualified computer and mobile phone forensics analysts having successfully completed training with Guidance Software of Pasadena, California, USA in use of their EnCase software and other specialist software packages having completed courses at introductory, intermediate, advanced and expert levels.
Members of the Boothroyds team, having been part of the UK management team of the Federation Against Copyright Theft, have a broad knowledge of brand protection and intellectual property theft, optical disc piracy and technology and piracy issues generally.
We are members of the World Association of Professional Investigators and registered with the Information Commissioner.
